Mechanical Adaptive Silicone Composites for UV-triggered Facilitated Cochlear-Implant Removal

چکیده

Abstract The removal of the cochlear implant (CI), which in some cases is without alternative, still an act simple pulling, not only causing harm for patient by damaging tissue but also making reimplantation more difficult. For that reason, it necessary to develop mechanisms make explantation easier. To overcome this problem adaption mechanical properties light-degradable periodic mesoporous organosilica (PMO) can be one solution. By introducing PMO nanoparticles into CI’s silicone matrix, particles as a stiffening agent, degraded irradiation with UV light. Using mechanism, becomes softer, thus easier and safer patients. Here first results, concerning creation composite material light-sensitive adaptive are reported.

The Cochlear Implant

The studies on cochlear implants have been conducted in the United States, Austria, Brasil, France, Finland, and some other countries. Up to now, this technique does not seem to have a wide spread application. Indeed it can only apply cases of deafness still presenting sufficient neural remnants to transmit the message. Moreover, the patient must be totally deaf( quasi complete loss of har cel...

Silicone breast implant materials.

This opinion article has been written on request because of the recent public controversy over silicone breast implants produced by a now-defunct company, Poly Implant Prosthese (PIP) in France. More than 300,000 PIP devices have been implanted. The purposes of my article are to (1.) provide a general overview of silicone breast implant materials, (2.) to describe the general safety of these ma...

Cochlear Implant

Cochlear implants are first true bionic sense organs Like human inner ear hair cells they convert mechanical sound energy into electrical impulses. Cochlear implants are not hearing aids which merely amplify mechanical sound waves and increase their energy content Otter et al have shown that in the normal auditory nerve in young people there are approximately 35,000 nerve fibres; they concluded...
